1st Annual 10K SPLIT

THE BLAST 5K TWILIGHT RUN

UNIGROUP 5K

So this was the first 10K SPLIT for the club. This consists of two 5K runs in the same day. The first was at the UNIGROUP 5K in Fenton at 8:30 am. The second was at THE BLAST 5K TWILIGHT RUN in New Town, St. Charles at 6:00pm. Ralph Pismany and Doug Schaeffler were the only takers for the challenge and they had a great time.

One of the neat things to note about the day was the “Pismany Hill”. This very short hill is near the end of the Unigroup Run. Why the name? This run in 2008 was Ralph’s first official run with the club. He took off pretty quick and was doing great. Then came the “Pismany Hill”. It is about 3/10ths of a mile from the finish line. Yeah, it killed him. But this year he hit the hill with a scary vengeance. He chewed it up and spit it out. Great job, Ralph!
