Cathy and her friend Doris joined Richard and I for the Law Day Run in Belleville, IL. It was a beautifully windy day with a bit of a chill in the air. Richard and I set our goal to finish the 5K (3.1 miles) in under 30 minutes. We soon found out that this would be tough due to the hilly course and the sections of cobble stones. Also, the course was not "certified". This means that it may not be exactly 3.1 miles. So we ran...and we finished. Using the two GPSs we had we found the course was actully 3.18 miles. Using a bit of math we figured our times for the first 3.1 miles of the course. These times are listed below. And yes...we beat 30 minutes!!!
Here are our times:
Doris "Fleet Feet" JamalDin Course = 42:03 Per Mile = 13:34
Cathy "The Flash" Schaeffler Course = 34:56 Per mile = 11:16
Richard "Rock" Tucker Course = 29:07 Per mile = 9:24
Doug "Bull" Schaeffler Course = 29:07 Per mile = 9:24
